10 Steps to Get an Organized Kitchen
Organizing a kitchen is one of the most important part of home organization. Once we are done with setting up our well organized kitchen and keep maintaining it, kitchen experience will be always very comfortable and time saving. I followed simple ten steps to organize my kitchen. And the outcome is an amazing experience. Hope this will help some of my readers too.
- Get rid of unnecessary or extra kitchen stuffs.
- Sort kitchen spices, dry foods, kitchen gadgets, bake/cookware, small kitchen appliances, dinnerware, flatware, glassware, serving dishes, kitchen utensils, cutlery sets, knives, kitchen textiles, cookbooks/ recipe books, tabletop decor, other kitchen tools and accessories.
- In kitchen cabinets/ pantry/ kitchen shelf, allocate space for each of the above mentioned category.
- After using any stuff, put it back to it's own place.
- Space for bakeware, cookware and spices should be kept close to the stove. Lid racks can be used to organize lids. Label spices in similar see-through jars so that you can find easily that you need.
- Organize dinnerware, glassware and serving dishes and small kitchen appliances according to their use. For example, special serving dishes that are used occasionally can be kept in higher shelves. On the other hand, dishes that are used frequently should stand close to your reach.
- Sort spoon, fork and knives and use drawer organizer to organize those in a cabinet drawer. Alternatively, small storage box with dividers can be used for cutlery sets.
- Kitchen textiles such as kitchen towels, dish cloths, oven mitts and pot holders should be kept in designated place so that when required, you can reach those easily .
- Keep recipe books/ cook books in a place where moisture and oil spills do not reach.
- Kitchen cleaners should be kept within kitchen. You can allocate under the sink space to organize those.
Note:You may not have enough cabinet space to store all your kitchen stuffs. Try to use shelf or other storage unit to organize your kitchen. De clutter kitchen counter tops and use storage boxes to provide minimal visibility of kitchen stuffs that do not help your kitchen to look good. However, prioritize your convenience to find the stuff you need.

6 Simple Steps to a Tidy Kitchen
A clean and nice looking modern kitchen always adds an wow factor in our cozy home. If you have a open concept floor plan for living space, dinning area and kitchen, and kitchen remains messy and dirty, the entire house will earn some bad impression from your visitors. Even if the layout is not open, still we need to keep our kitchen clean and organized for our own convenience and satisfaction. The following is a list of factors that are very important for me to keep my kitchen clean, organized and beautiful:
An organized kitchen: If you do not have an organized kitchen, you or the person who cooks for the family needs to spend some extra time, effort and energy to find stuffs that he needs for cooking. Often it costs patience too. With an organized kitchen you can reduce the amount of time you spend in the kitchen. See more...
Dirty dish free kitchen sink: Kitchen sink should be free from dirty dishes. Instead of cleaning a single dish, we often keep building up the number of dirty dishes in the sink so that we do not need to wash dishes several times a day. But cleaning those dishes take a long time which can be reduced by cleaning those immediately after each use. Also, try to clean kitchen sink at least once a day.
However, if you have a dishwasher and if you usually use that, in that case, instead of accumulating dishes in the sink, keep putting those in dishwasher, sink will remain dish free.

Clean countertops: A kitchen does not look good if you have too many stuffs on countertops. With clean countertops, a kitchen look nicer and bigger. Make use of kitchen cabinets and drawers and keep the countertops free from stuffs. Having a pantry is a good idea too. If you do not have any of those, try to use shelves and some nice storage boxes. In order to get rid of dirty residue and to add some shine in your kitchen, wipe off countertops as often as you feel like cleaning is required.
Clean backsplash: Kitchen backspash get dirty with oils spills and spices very quickly if you prepare fried food regularly. It is a good idea to wipe off backsplash immediately after frying something so that oils and spices do not build up over there. Tiled backspash is lot easier to clean. However, if yours one is not tiled, try to protect it by putting a fire resistant cover.
Clean floor: Try to broom your kitchen floor immediately after cooking. Mopping should be done at least every second day.
Clean kitchen appliances: Maintaining clean appliances (e.g. stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven) not too easy. Its costs a lot of time. However, by cleaning the exterior with damp cloth, paper towel/ wipes every day and cleaning the interior with a certain interval will make the kitchen look sparkly from inside and out.
However, it is very difficult for a single person to do and maintain all the work in a kitchen all by himself. On the other hand, keeping the kitchen beautiful will become lot easier when other family members will get involved to help and share the workload. Thus, everyone in the home will be able to share the pride for their beautiful kitchen.
